Abidoza releases his hard-won single, Umjolo, featuring Boohle and Cassper Nyovest

Abidoza has been commended for the release of his contentious single, Umjolo, featuring Boohle and Cassper Nyovest, after almost not getting to release the single.

Abidoza took to Instagram on Friday, 1 October 2021, to confirm the release of his new single, Umjolo, featuring Boohle and Cassper Nyovest. The song almost never saw the light of day, as Nyovest was against its release. This was due to his belief that he was slighted by Boohle, who indicated that she wrote her own verse for their debut joint collaborative single, Siyathandana.

The release of the single has received favourable reviews and feedback. The single is a contemporary amapiano single on production through the use of the amapiano percussion and long drum. However, the mood of the single is set by the lo-fi and horn solo which comes in and out as the song pushes forward. Nyovest opens the song and Boohle’s soprano ad-libs add the additional listening value of the single. Lyrically, the single is the musicians inquiring about why they were never told of the beauty of being in a committed relationship.

The single is available for purchase on Apple Music.
