Adrienne Houghton endorses black-owned makeup brands

Adrienne Houghton has rallied behind the Black Lives Matter movement by encouraging her followers to make a conscious effort to buy makeup products from black-owned brands.

Adrienne Houghton took to Instagram on Monday, 1 June 2020, to share a message of solidarity with her followers, imploring them to purchase beauty products from various black-owned brands. The television presenter and singer shared an image of herself posing in a makeup look believed to have been created from such products.

Her makeup included a bronze eyeshadow with eyelash extensions, full coverage foundation, and a structured contour. She stated, “If you’re into beauty… [please] recognize your buying power and support black-owned indie beauty brands! During this time, I know so many of us feel helpless… and want to do more!”

Some of the beauty companies listed in her post were Briogeo Hair Care, KNC Beauty, Mented Cosmetics, Nyakio Beauty, UOMA Beauty, KLUR, Beauty Bakerie and OUI the People.
