AJ McLean proposes a Backstreet Boys and NSYNC mashup tour

Member of the Backstreet Boys AJ McLean has made a public statement for Justin Timberlake to return to NSYNC in order for a joint reunion tour to ensue.

He spoke about this in an episode of E! Entertainment’s Ladygang, which aired on Sunday, 28 April 2019.

AJ appeared on the popular talk show to discuss Backstreet Boys’ comeback, their DNA World Tour and the release of their latest album DNA on 25 January 2019. He took a few minutes in the interview to pitch the idea of a joint tour featuring NSYNC.

In the interview, AJ calls out former NSYNC member Justin Timberlake, stating “I think Justin should come back. One tour. All ten of us go out. Stadiums, it’s not a reunion if not all five members attend, it would be the biggest thing since sliced bread. I think it’d be awesome, So dude, let’s just talk about it!”

The remaining NSYNC members joined Ariana Grande during her headlining stint at Coachella Music Festival, Justin was noticeably absent from this occasion. In an article published by Billboard on Tuesday, 23 April 2019, Brad Wavra, Senior VP of Live Nation (NSYNC’s former promoter) commented on the reunion, stating that “[t]he four of them would be great, there’s no denying the talent that Justin has, but the four of them together proved it [at Coachella]: the music sounded great, they looked great, the fan response was awesome and I think that that would be the same all across America.”

While a reunion tour with the two biggest boy bands of the 90s would surely be a major hit, the likelihood of such is still uncertain as NSYNC have not officially announced their reunion.
