AKA announces concert at Sun Arena in March

The musician will perform for his fans in a concert in Pretoria accompanied by a band and a 30-piece Orchestra. 

Rapper, AKA, took to Twitter on Friday, 11 January 2019, to announce that he would be celebrating his musical success by giving his fans an extravagant show at the Sun Arena in Menlyn, Pretoria, on Sunday, 17 March 2019.

The star said in the tweet that he was excited to share the news that he would be performing with a “30-piece Orchestra and band.” The rapper, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, said he felt ready for a performance of that magnitude.  “I believe now, with 3 classic solo albums done and dusted, the time is right.”

The rapper has released six albums since the start of his career, with his latest, ‘Touch My Blood,’ being released in June 2018. The sixteen-track LP spawned hits like ‘Beyoncé’ and the lead single ‘Fela in Versace, which received the thumbs up from the likes of Anthony Hamilton and Swizz Beatz during their time in South Africa

The ‘Jealousy’ rapper was recently honoured at the Sound City MVP Awards in Nigeria, winning the award for ‘Best African Hip-Hop’. He expressed his excitement about the win on Instagram, saying that 2019 was bound to be an exciting year. Fellow South African Busiswa, also brought home an award winning in the category of ‘Best Female Artist’.
