AKA bargains for his freedom in Finessin’ music video

Published on

AKA has released a cinematic music video for his single, Finessin’, which includes cameos from Thembinkosi Mthembu, Lorraine Moropa and Don Design.

AKA released his highly anticipated Finessin’ music video on Monday, 22 February 2021, on YouTube. The video, produced by AKA himself, starts with a scene of AKA being tied to a chair, with Thembinkosi Mthembu roughing him up as he asks for his money back. An introductory sequence is then shown, clarifying that AKA is the good guy who is going up against Thembinkosi, who plays the character of Z, alongside his girlfriend, played by Lorraine Moropa.

The visuals then whip-pan to a mechanic’s workshop, where AKA is hard at work on one of the cars. The scene then changes to a shot of him sitting in a sports car, when he receives a phone call asking if he wants to partake in a street race with Z. He immediately agrees and partakes in the race, fuelling the rivalry between him and his nemesis. This ultimately results in him being assaulted, as shown at the beginning of the music video.

At the end, Lorraine enters the garage and reveals that she has been on the hunt for Z, who is being accused of multiple crimes. The visuals end with AKA agreeing to help her catch Z, in exchange for his freedom.
