Leading South African rapper, AKA, shared that he is considering inviting DJ Zinhle as one of his special guests for the Durban edition of the AKA Orchestra on Saturday, 2 November 2019.
Soon after AKA announced that he is set to take his acclaimed AKA Orchestra concert to Durban on Saturday, 2 November 2019, at the Durban ICC, social media users took to the comments section to request for DJ Zinhle to be featured on the line-up. The official poster, shared on Thursday, 19 September 2019, has already received over 5 000 likes on Instagram and over 2 600 likes on Twitter, with multiple comments on the upcoming performance.
One of the comments on the post stated, “Thank you Kiernan, that’s all I want to say. I’m so filled with joy right now and I’m in awe. Thank you for deciding to do another one and bringing it to us [in Durban]. The thought of experiencing you for the first time like this is overwhelming. See you on the 2nd of November, Mega.”
Because AKA is yet to announce the line-up for the upcoming performance, one follower used the comments section to request that AKA invite his girlfriend and arguably Africa’s leading female deejay, DJ Zinhle. The fan asked, “Can we please have DJ Zinhle on the line up.” AKA responded to the social media user, writing, “That would be awesome,” accompanied by a heart emoji.
Many of his fans then commented on the post positively. One follower commented on the post, writing, “Actually. It is mandatory that we have DJ Zinhle on the line up comrades.” Another social media user stated, “That would be too much.” One social media user remarked on how much it would cost to hire DJ Zinhle, writing, “He going to need big money to book her.”
