South African rapper, AKA, has taken to his social media pages to encourage his fans to vote for him under the 2019 Best Pan African Artist category at this year’s NAMAs.
Celebrated hip-hop artist, AKA, has been nominated at this year’s Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMA) under the Best Pan African Artist category. The Jika hit-maker took to his social media pages to ask his fans to vote him so he can take the award home when the NAMAs take place on Saturday, 7 September 2019, at the MTN Theatre in the capital city of Windhoek.
The list of nominees was made official on Sunday, 14 July 2019, and following the news that he was nominated, AKA took to his social media pages to encourage his followers to vote for him.
AKA is not the only South African nominated in the category. Fetch Your Life hit-maker, Prince Kaybee, has also gotten a nod in the same category as AKA, and 2019’s Song Of The Year winner at the South African Music Awards, Holly Rey has also been nominated. The three South Africans are nominated with other notable African artists like Diamond Platnumz and Master KG. In previous months AKA trended on Twitter after he lost out on 2019’s BET Award for the Best International Act after being nominated for three in a row. Many of the tweets blamed it on the fact that he only follows seven people on the social mediaplatform.
It is important to note that to vote for their favourite South African artists, fans would need to go onto the award’s ceremony’s page as SMS voting is only valid in Namibia.
