Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA or Supa Mega, has mammoth star power as a South African celebrity. Since the release of his most recent studio album Touch My Blood on the 15th of June 2018, it has been certified Platinum.

Fresh off his Comedy Central Roast on Thursday, 21 February 2019, rapper AKA is making headlines again. This time it is for his nomination for Favourite South African Star at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. AKA is nominated alongside Nomzamo Mbatha, Siya Kolisi, Somizi Mhlongo and Kagiso Rabada.

The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards are a slime-filled bash, celebrating what’s been popular amongst the youth regarding pop culture, television, films and music over the past year. We The Best Music’s front-man DJ Khaled is set to host the awards.

2019’s Kids’ Choice Awards are due to take place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, 23 March on DSTV channel 305 at 17:05.

AKA’s rap rival Cassper Nyovest was nominated in the Favorite African Star category in 2018, which was won by Eddy Kenzo from Uganda. Previous winners of Favorite South African Star include renowned television personality Bonang Matheba in 2015 and international comedian and presenter Trevor Noah in 2017.
