AKA Orchestra Ethekwini trends after social media user alleges the venue was empty

On Saturday, 2 November 2019, AKA hosted his AKA Orchestra Ethekwini concert, which topped the trends list the following day, with a social media user claiming the venue was empty.

On Sunday, 3 November 2019, AKA Orchestra Ethekwini topped the trends list after a video went viral on social media, showing that the venue was not filled to capacity. The social media user captioned that video by writing, “An empty venue! Arguably, Cassper is [the greatest of all time] and would’ve filled this venue!”

The follower explained that the video was taken at “22:22 [after] Tira, Riky Rick, Dladla Mshunqisi were long done with their performances!” One social media user poked fun at the alleged lack of attendance, writing, “[They are saying] AKA’s concert was just a family gathering, [just a small family gathering].”

However, AKA’s fans defended the Victory Lap hitmaker under the trending hashtag. One social media user wrote, “Fact of the matter is AKA did a major successful show, with no ticket sales support from celebrities and with no major line-up unlike the other guy. [All of you] people hating is not going to change the fact that he’s winning.”

Later that day, AKA took to social media and shared multiple images and videos from the concert. AKA captioned one of the videos with a heartfelt message of thanks for the support he received from his fans, writing, “Last night was magic! Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and made it one of the best days of my life.” In the video, the crowd can be heard screaming while they shone flashlights from their phones, giving the illusion of stars in the dimly lit room.
