Rapper, AKA, sealed the week with the release of the visuals for his much-anticipated collaborative single, Main Ou’s, with fellow Western Cape-born rapper, YoungstaCPT.
On Friday, 18 October 2019, AKA saw his name top the Twitter trends list following the release of the music video for one of his new singles, Main Ou’s, featuring YoungstaCPT. The single marks the much-anticipated joint single between the two Western Cape-born artists and the music video pays homage to their birth place, gradually moving to where AKA is in his life, currently.
The music video, which was shot by Space Studio pictures, has two primary locations. The first part of the music video was shot in different locations in Cape Town. It starts with YoungstaCPT coming out of his Y Gen apparel shop and bumping into AKA. The music video follows the progression of the lyrical content of the single, moving from Cape Town to Johannesburg as indicated by AKA’s verses.
The Johannesburg portion of the visuals were shot at a petrol station in Bryanston. Unlike the Cape Town portion of the music video’s visuals, which are about the community that the two rappers are from, the Johannesburg visuals reveal what the two rappers have accumulated since becoming stars.
