AKA took to Instagram to showcase his Nike Jordan sneakers and expressed excitement at being able to wear them again, suggesting the end of his collaboration with Reebok.
AKA sparked the intended drama when he revealed that he can finally wear Nike sneakers again on Friday, 3 July 2020, as the demise of his relationship with Reebok happened publicly. Through his Instagram Stories on the same day, the Levels rapper revealed that he not only purchased one, but two new pairs.
The rapper’s reintroduction to the popular athleisure brand saw him wearing one of the brand’s most popular and iconic sneakers, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid. Because of its popularity, the sneaker is currently sold out on the Nike online store.
AKA chose the monochrome colourway with grey accents. The sneaker retails at approximately R2 000 on the Nike online store.
