AKA on Burna Boy rivalry: “I never hated Burna Boy”

AKA has issued a statement announcing that, despite all the precautionary measures taken in recent weeks, he has tested positive for COVID-19.

AKA took to Twitter on Friday, 10 July 2020, to reveal that he has tested positive for COVID-19. The statement affirmed that the rapper had been cognisant of and adhered to the precautionary measures stipulated by the government and the World Health Organisation (WHO) since news of the virus. In a subsequent tweet, he noted some of the symptoms he experienced to encourage people to get tested, naming headaches, night chills, and weak muscles as some of his indicators.

The Touch My Blood musician seemed hurt by the fact that some Twitter users made light of the situation, or blatantly suggested that he was lying about contracting the virus. Moreover, he stated that the backlash and scepticism has only encouraged him to destigmatize contracting the virus.

He added, “It seems like people only sit up and pay attention when it happens to public figures or those close to them, Unfortunately, at some point, we are all going to catch it.”
