AKA to give talk on brand creativity at DStv Seminar of Creativity

The South African hip-hop artist has been announced as the speaker for the DStv Seminar of Creativity, which forms part of the 2019 Loeries Creative Week.

South African rapper, AKA, has been announced as one of the speakers who will be in discussion at the DStv Seminar of Creativity, hosted by the Loeries. The Loeries are prestigious creative industry and brand communication awards for Africa and the Middle East.

The creative platform shared the promotional poster which features the hip-hop star on their social media pages on Wednesday, 14 August 2019. They announced that AKA would be discussing popular culture and the way in which different brands can identify ways to be part of the community and be seen.

ā€œAKAĀ will make an appearance at Loeries Creative Week, where he will discuss urban culture and how brands fit in and stand out at the DStv Seminar of Creativity on Friday 23 August. Book your tickets at our link in bio and let him entertain you,ā€ the caption reads.

The news was also shared by event coordinator, Sibu Mabena, who took to Twitter to celebrate the news and express her excitement at the artist’s upcoming talk. Sibu shared that this will be the first time that someone who isn’t associated with a particular agency or brand will be on stage in discussion with industry experts, instead of performing his music, as he is a rapper.

She wrote, in part, ā€œFor the first time ever, someone who isn’t an agency or FMCG brand creative in a traditional sense will be giving a talk at the DStv Seminar for Creativity.ā€
