Amanda Black has begun the countdown to the release of her album, Mnyama, by highlighting that it marks her fifth year as a recording artist.

Amanda Black took to Twitter on Monday, 2 August 2021, to mark the five-day countdown to the release of her third studio album, Mnyama. The musician detailed the significance of the album’s release in a promotional post, highlighting that the album is set to mark her fifth year as a recording artist. Black made a name for herself nationwide with her debut single, Amazulu, taken off her critically acclaimed album of the same name.

However, the past three years for her have seen her attempting to find her individuality, following her departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment. Her 2019 album, Power, was an affirmation of her regaining her autonomy following the legal battle with the controversial record label. However, it seems that the upcoming album is more of an inward look into her own mental health battles.

Already released from the album are Kutheni Na, featuring Kwesta, and her most recent release, Let It Go. Mnyama is set to for release on Friday, 6 August 2021.
