Anele Mdoda celebrates Pearl Modiadie’s courage for harassment disclosure

Anele Mdoda publicly showcased her support for Pearl Modiadie, following her confession of having allegedly endured sexual harassment at the hands of a superior at Metro FM.

Anele Mdoda took to Twitter on Monday, 14 June 2021, to publicly show her support for Pearl Modiadie. Modiadie took to Twitter earlier in the day to affirm a publication’s story detailing the sexual harassment Modiadie allegedly faced during her tenure as a Metro FM radio personality. Modiadie claimed to have endured harassment by a manager who made inappropriate comments directed at her, via email and in comments during their interactions.

Surprisingly, it has been reported that the manager still works at the station, despite Modiadie having lodged complaints with management. However, Mdoda, besides commending Modiadie for her courage, also highlighted the supposed lack of protection for alleged victims within the South African entertainment industry. Mdoda suggestively referred to the reports of the contentious actor, Mangaliso Ngema, taking legal action against Lorraine Moropa, who publicly shamed him for allegedly being inappropriate in his conduct on the set of SABC 2’s Lithapo.

Ngema reportedly pursued legal action against Moropa and the production company for defamation of character. He is also reportedly seeking millions in loss of income because of the allegations.
