Anele Mdoda confirmed as co-host of Miss SA 2021 pageant

Anele Mdoda has confirmed that she is the official co-host of the Miss South Africa 2021 pageant, moving her from presiding judge to being at the forefront of the crowning.

Anele Mdoda took to Twitter on Monday, 20 September 2021, to confirm that she is set to co-host the upcoming Miss South Africa (SA) 2021 pageant alongside Nico Panagio. The confirmation post was shared as the Miss South Africa organisation begins to countdown to the official final event, which will see reigning Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida crowning her successor after a tumultuous year for her.

This will be Mdoda’s first time hosting the pageant. She follows actress and media darling, Nomzamo Mbatha, who hosted Miss South Africa 2020. Before Mbatha took the reins, Bonang Matheba fronted the pageant for two years in 2018 and 2019, when Zozibini Tunzi and Tamaryn Green were crowned.

While Mdoda was not the host of the pageant, she was part of the judging panel that informed the crowning of Tunzi and Musida. The televised Miss SA 2021 pageant is set to air on Saturday, 16 October 2021, on M-Net and Mzansi Magic simultaneously, DStv channels 101 and 129, at 17:00.
