‘Charlene’ hit-maker, Anthony Hamilton, will be returning to South Africa for a second time this year for a show in Polokwane on Sunday, 16 December 2018.
Grammy award-winning musician, Anthony Hamilton, is returning to South Africa for a performance at the Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane, on Sunday, 16 December 2018. This will be the singer’s second visit to South Africa this year, following his performance in Pretoria on Friday, 24 August 2018.
The show will be hosted by industry darling, Nomzamo Mbatha, as well as the eccentric Somizi Mhlongp. Unath iNkayi and Zamo Dlamini, Dladla Mshunqisi, DJ Naves and Sphectacula, DJ Tira as well as Vetkuk and Mahoota, are set to perform at the show and at the after party.
Anthony Hamilton is well-known for singles such as ‘Charlene’ ‘Pray For Me’ and ‘Her Heart,’ amongst others. Speaking to Blavity in a 2016 interview, the R&B crooner opened up about the creative process he has adopted, that has led to his multiple hit singles. He commented:
“Each creative process has its own beginning and ending, the way you approach it is different. It depends on where you are. If you’re in a place and the music is already there, then you listen to the music and see what the music is saying, and then you try to be honest with the music and whatever story it’s telling you, you help capture it.”
“So I think that each time I write a song, it’s different. There are moments when I’m in a groove and the music and the process is coming along pretty well and I end up with four songs because it’s like, okay, I’m in a groove now. Listen to the music, write what you’re feeling or state what you’re feeling first off,” he added.
Tickets for the show are available for purchase from Computicket, retailing between R350 and R800, with the show set to start at 18:00.
