Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next music video reaches 160 million views

Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next music video received 50 million views within the first 24 hours.

Ariana Grande’s new Thank U, Next music video has reached over 161 million views since it was released on Friday, 30 November 2018.

Thank U, Next earned 50 million views within the first 24 hours of its release and is currently the number one trending video on YouTube. It is the most popular song in the US this week and is Grande’s first single to reach number one on the Billboard top 100.

The video recreates scenes from romantic comedies like Legally Blonde and 13 Going on 30. “These movies have shaped and moulded so many of us into the strong and intelligent, but still playful and girly women that we are,” Grande said in a behind-the-scenes video for the shoot.

The song represents a new chapter in her life following her experiences of heartbreak and tragedy over the past few years.

Grande has treated the videos release like a film, releasing a trailer for the video, three days before it was released and posting behind the scenes videos for fans to enjoy. Thank U, Next is the first track of a new album by the same title.
