Ayanda Borotho is due to release her new book, Unbecoming to Become, in August

On Monday, 15 July 2019, Isibaya actress, Ayanda Borotho, shared details of her new book titled Unbecoming to Become, due to be released next month.

South African actress, Ayanda Borotho, is due to release her new book called Unbecoming to Become, sub-titled ‘My Journey Back to Self’. The book’s cover features Ayanda emerging in water and draped in highly accessorised modern Zulu attire whilst holding a spear.

Ayanda captioned the post with an extract from her new book. The extract features a conversation between her and God wherein she is asking about her identity as given by ‘God’ versus the identity that has been bestowed upon her by society.

In the stated conversation between her and God, Ayanda asks God how is it that his word affirms that all human beings are made in his likeness, but it seems that God is more elevated in men as opposed to women. The conversation continues with God asking Ayanda as to who told her all these things and she replies that it was the world.

The conversation ends with God advising her to find herself and that through that journey, she will find God whom she seeks in order to resolve the dilemma she finds herself in. Fellow Isibaya actor, Muzi Mthabela, also shared a post on Ayanda’s new book on his Instagram page. The book is due to be released in August. More of Ayanda’s industry colleagues have since congratulated her and expressed their excitement for the new book. Amongst those who congratulated Ayanda are Jessica Nkosi, Nomzamo Mbatha, Simphiwe Ngema and Abdul Khoza.

Me: Dear God. I have a question. God: Ask child. Me: If we are all made in Your image and likeness, does that mean you manifest as a superior God in man and as an inferior God in woman? God: Who told you this? Me: The world God. God: Do you believe them? Me: No but sometimes I don’t know God because of how the world treats us. God: I see. Me: What should I do God? God: Find yourself. Me: Pardon me God. I don’t understand. God: Find yourself. There where you find yourself , you will find Me and you will find your answer also.
