‘Ayina Chorus’ hitmaker, Mshoza is still a firm believer in love

Mshoza revealed on Afternoon Express that she still believes in the institution of marriage, despite being divorced three times.

Musician Mshoza appeared on SABC 3’s Afternoon Express show last week to perform her sudden smash-hit single, ‘Ayina Chorus’.

Mshoza spoke to veteran television host Jeannie D about her love life and her belief that she will marry again soon. “I will still get married, probably next year,” she said. She later sarcastically added, “Number four.”

Mshoza has been married and divorced three times. Her last marriage ended earlier this year amidst allegations of abuse and infidelity. In an interview with the Sowetan in May, Mshoza said, “I loved that man. I moved from Johannesburg for him and stayed in the rural areas where they don’t even have flushing toilets, and he has abused me emotionally and physically.”

Nevertheless, Mshoza remains a steadfast believer in love. She told Jeannie D that love is not to be blame for the failure of her relationships. “Love has done nothing to me. It’s the type of guys that I go out with. So, I can never give up on love until maybe love says, ‘look, I’m the one that’s doing you wrong. Give up.’ I’m not gonna give up,” she said.

Mshoza’s single ‘Ayina Chorus’ became an internet sensation after actress Pearl Thusi posted a video of herself dancing along to the tune. The video sparked an online dance challenge, catapulting the song into the spotlight and onto South African music fans summer playlists.
