Black Is King, a film by Beyoncé, will be airing on M-Net on Saturday, 1 August 2020, less than 24 hours after the global premiere on Disney Plus.
Black Is King will be aired on the South African broadcasting channel, M-Net, on Saturday, 1 August 2020, as confirmed in a statement on Monday, 20 July 2020. The visual album will also be available to DStv Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access customers for two hours on the night of its premiere.

Derived from the 2019 remake of The Lion King, Black Is King tells the story of a young king’s journey of betrayal, love, and self-identity. Guided by his ancestors, father and childhood love, he earns the virtues needed to reclaim his home and throne.
The production, which was developed by internationally acclaimed singer and actress, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, brings together a stellar cast of creatives from all around the world. South African actors, Connie Chiume, Nandi Madida, Nyaniso Dzedze and Warren Masemola, are a part of the diverse cast, which also includes a variety of other African stars.
