Blood Psalms completes filming for season one

Blood Psalms has completed the filming phase for its first season, which was done in 83 days, following the production break imposed by the nationwide lockdown.

Blood Psalms, produced by Yellowbone Entertainment, has announced the completion of the filming for the first season of the highly anticipated series. In an Instagram post on Saturday, 3 October 2020, the production company, headed by Jahmil X.T. Qubeka and Layla Swart, shared that after 83 days on set, the filming aspect of the series was complete, after experiencing a significant delay due to the nationwide lockdown.

Yellowbone Entertainment shared a wide shot visual of the cast and crew on set, along with the caption, “Day 83 of 83. Blood Psalms, you have changed us all. A privilege to have grown together, to have pioneered together, and to have raised the bar together.”

Blood Psalms is a 10-part series which will be releasing on Showmax in 2021. The African mythology epic, created, produced and directed by Jahmil Qubeka and Layla Swart, will tell the powerful story of a fierce teenage African queen, Zazi, who battles a world-ending prophecy to navigate her people through complexities, politics and endless wars.
