In an exclusive media event on Thursday, 11 July 2019, Bonang Matheba hosted the announcement event, revealing the 2019 Miss South Africa Top 16 finalists.
Taking to Twitter to share the news, media personality, Bonang Matheba, tweeted that she would be announcing the Miss SA top 16 finalists at a presser event on Thursday morning, 11 July 2019. Bonang is also the official host for the Miss SA 2019 pageant. Bonang retweeted an introductory video shared by her fan page on Twitter at the presser event where she announced the Miss SA Top 16 finalists. She captioned the retweeted video “Great morning.” The event will be broadcast live from the Sun Arena Time Square, Pretoria, on Friday, 9 August 2019.
For the second consecutive year, Bonang will be gracing the silver screen and hosting the annual pageant. Bonang also retweeted a video shared by one of her followers recapping the event. In the video, Bonang is seen stepping onto stage in a red dress announcing her hostess skills as the crowd can be heard cheering in the background.
The names of the 2019 Miss SA Top 16 finalists as they appear on the official Miss South Africa page are: Nompumelelo Maduna, Danielle Wallace, Beulah Baduza, Lisa Stoffela, Errin Brits, Sibabalwe Gcilitshana, Eloise van der Westhuizen, Zozibini Tunzi, Sasha-Lee Olivier, Keabetswe Kanyane, Loren Leigh Jenneker, Zanele Phakathi, Noluthando Bennette, Xia Narain, Khothatso Dithebe and Chuma Maxaluka,
Bonang excitedly expressed on Twitter that the event is “[Going to] be pure HEAT” and that she simply cannot wait. The Twitter post as shared by Bonang has since received over 2 000 likes and over 100 retweets.
