Bonang Matheba returns as the host for the Miss South Africa 2019 live show

Media personality and entrepreneur, Bonang Matheba, has been announced as the returning host of the Miss South Africa 2019 pageant, taking place in August. 

The South African celebrity took to social media on Tuesday, 9 July 2019, to share the news, stating, “Very excited to return as host of the Miss South Africa Pageant…Broadcast LIVE from the Sun Arena on 9 August 2019. Simulcast on M-Net and Mzansi Magic …See you there!!”. Matheba previously hosted the national pageant in 2018, showcasing her engaging stage presence and outstanding fashion choices throughout the broadcast.

Fans were elated by the choice, with many offering their congratulatory messages on social media. Vee Heshu stated, “You definitely gave people what they want!” and Tamsyn shared her praise on Twitter. saying, “There can be no other. This wasn’t even up for debate. You shone last year and you’ll shine again! By you bringing extra glam it made the show even better, put your best foot forward. Can’t wait for the new Miss SA to be crowned”.

Matheba is expected to guide the contestants through each round of the competition, offering her signature hosting style throughout. According to a statement issued on the official Miss South Africa website, the quintessential title holder is described as, “Compassionate and inspirational. She is a confident woman, comfortable with speaking to CEOs and dignitaries, while fearlessly using her voice for the charitable cause of her choosing. Miss SA is hard-working, charismatic and organised and has the world at her feet”.

The Miss South Africa 2019 pageant will be broadcast live on Friday, 9 August 2019 on M-Net, DStv channel 101 and Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
