Bonang Matheba took to Instagram to share the first official post of herself in New York since announcing her relocation to The Big Apple.
Bonang Matheba took to Instagram on Wednesday, 9 June 2021, to share her first official post from her apartment in New York. In May 2021, the star confirmed that she had relocated to New York in a series of suggestive tweets. However, she had already revealed the move through her Instagram Stories a day ahead of the confirmation.
Moreover, the post is a late post which she had initially shared on her Stories. To date, it is still unclear why Bonang moved from South Africa to New York, although it is believed that she made the decision to do so in order to further grow her career and personal brand.
That being said, in 2020, Matheba was set to move to the city in order to establish her podcast on Charlamagne Tha God’s newly founded podcast platform, Black Effect Podcast Network. However, due to the pandemic, news of the podcast was forgotten and Matheba focused on her SABC 1 documentary, A Very Bonang Year, and the diversification of House of BNG.
