Bonang Matheba shares video showcasing the making of her Durban July dress

Bonang Matheba has shared a video, on Twitter, of the making of her Vodacom Durban July dress by Gert-Johan Coetzee. The video was retweeted by Bonang from one of her fan pages.

On Monday, 8 July 2019, one of Bonang Matheba’s fan pages posted a video on Twitter, detailing the making of Bonang’s Vodacom Durban July outfit. In the video, one of South Africa’s best designers, Gert-Johan Coetzee, can be heard detailing the work that, at the time, still needed to go into completing the dress.  The post, as shared by Bonang’s fan page known as the B-Force, was captioned ‘the making of a masterpiece’.

The video clip shows Gert-Johan Coetzee running his hands through the dress and pointing to the arrears that needed to be adjusted. Of the details that needed readjustment, Gert can be heard saying the side of the dress still needed to be lowered in order for it to show off her figure perfectly.

From the shared video, the dress appears to have been primarily made of beads. The orange beads were layered to perfection in a drape-like design on both sides of the dress.

Bonang has since retweeted the post and admitted in the caption that the dress was in fact heavy, weighing about 9 kilograms.  Furthermore, Bonang wrote in the caption how her body was in pain when she had the dress on,  but even though the dress caused her pain, the heart-eyed emoji suggests it was worth the pain.
