Carlos Santana celebrates twentieth anniversary of Supernatural with North American tour

Legendary artist Carlos Santana has announced that he will be commemorating the release of his hit album, Supernatural, with a North American tour beginning on Saturday, 22 June 2019.

The Supernatural tour commemorates the twentieth anniversary of his album Supernatural, which won him a Grammy, and the fiftieth anniversary of Santana’s legendary Woodstock performance. His full band, including Californian rockers The Doobie Brothers and his drummer wife Cindy Blackman Santana, will join Santana on tour.

In an article published by Billboard on Wednesday, 16 January 2019, Santana commented on the tour stating, “We’re always moving forward, and we have incredible new songs and melodies that will inspire you, I feel like a 20-year-old on stage playing with this band, and they deliver on every song. When we hit the stage, we know we will touch your heart and make you dance, sing, cry, laugh and leave your baggage behind.”

The tour begins on Saturday, 22 June 2019, at Phoenix’s Ak-chin Pavilion and ends on Sunday, 25 August 2019, at Wantagh, New York’s Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theatre. Throughout the tour, he will visit cities like San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Dallas, Toronto, Detroit, Washington and Boston. A standout show during this tour is his show at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Monday, 24 June 2019.

Santana’s set-list is bound to include massive hits like Maria Maria, Smooth and Black Magic Woman, as well as songs from his recent EP In Search of Mona Lisa and his upcoming album Africa Speaks, which is set to be released on Friday, 7 June 2019.

Tickets for the tour are available for purchase on the official Carlos Santana website.
