Cassper Nyovest was voted Man Of The Match following the celebrity team’s win against soccer legends at Game Of Heritage which took place on Tuesday, 24 September 2019.
To celebrate Heritage Day in South Africa, media personality and businessman, TT Mbha, hosted a soccer match between soccer legends and some of South Africa’s most loved media personalities on Tuesday, 24 September 2019. Some of the notable celebrities that took part in the match included Minnie Dlamini Jones as the coach, Cassper Nyovest, Mpho Pops, Somizi Mhlongo, Rami Chuene, Zola Nombona, Manaka Ranaka and Khanyi Mbau.
Not only did the celebrity team win the game with a score of 5 – 4 to the soccer veterans, Cassper Nyovest took home the Man Of The Match trophy. True to form, the Move For Me hitmaker posted about his award with a less than subtle caption as to why he won it, writing, “Played some football with a cause today and with legs like these, of course I had to be voted Man Of The Match. Played my heart out and I had fun.”
Social media users that were at the football match attested to Cassper’s skills, with one follower writing, “Man Of The Match, believe me he is really good, speed and the powerful shots he took, William Okpara had to work really hard.” Another social media user stated, “I was there watching. You played like a professional. We were shocked by your skill and the quality of the goal you scored. You were not awarded the Man Of The Match accolade by mistake. Bravo!”
However, it seems one of the few people that felt he did not deserve the accolade was his best friend, Carpo. In multiple Instagram stories shared on Cassper Nyovest’s page, Carpo complained that he felt he deserved to win the accolade, having allegedly scored three of the five goals from the celeb team.
