Award-winning South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has given Kid X’s latest album, Thank Da King, a thumbs up. In a tweet posted on Thursday, 11 October 2018, Abhuti Fill Up posted a screenshot of the album’s cover art, revealing that he was listening to ‘Starlight.’ He then captioned the image with multiple flame emojis.

His Twitter followers quickly responded to this, with one of them asking if he thought the song was really good. Cassper responded by saying that the song is really good, and added that it is his second favourite song off Kid X’s latest album.

Cassper revealed that his favourite song on the album is ‘323 Stokvel.’

The album was released on Friday, 21 September 2018, and is the rapper’s debut album. Some of the artwork on the album was curated by the legendary Esther Mahlangu. The highly anticipated album is a complete body of work, consisting of 26 songs and featuring the likes of Zingah (previously known as Smashis), Kwesta, Yanga, Makwa, Vanessa Mdee, ChianoSky and Thee Legacy, amongst others.

The album has a very unique sound that contains elements of Kwaito and Hip-Hop, with a touch of Maskandi, which comes through in the single ‘Mtan’ Omuntu,’ which is a collaboration with popular Maskandi duo Shwi NoMtekhala and Makwa.

Cassper often gives nods to some of his industry colleagues who he believes have released great music, or are exceling in their particular field.
