Cheswyn Ruiters announced as the winner of Maak My Famous

Twenty-three-year old Cheswyn Ruiters was announced as the winner of Maak My Famous, in the live broadcast which aired on Thursday, 11 July 2019 on kykNET and kykNET&kie.

After weeks of competition, Cheswyn Ruiters was finally crowned the winner of Maak My Famous, which came at the end of an extravaganza show, including a number of surprises from the host, judges and previous contestants. The Top ten performed a medley of songs before host, Emo Adams, joined the Top four for their version of Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. Viewers were also treated to performances from guest singers Karen Zoid with As Musiek Begin Speel, Belinda Davids with One Moment In Time and Kurt Darren with a medley of his hit songs.

Fans took to social media to offer their congratulatory messages to Cheswyn Ruiters, who many believe possessed all the characteristics of a true South African performer. Samantha Lei Daniels said, “Congratulations!!! Well deserved. You were the most consistent and I could feel every performance. I am ECSTATIC with your win! “. The finale did not come without some disappointment, with fans of other contestants left in disbelief at the final vote. Marlon Williams commented, “Bernice West should have won”.

According to M-Net, along with the title of Maak My Famous Winner, Cheswyn Ruiters will receive a one-year PR contract from Ian Bredenkamp Media, clothes and accessories worth R50 000 from TFG, a car from Toyota worth R380 000, R100 000 cash and a one-year contract from All Star Management. He will also be joining Emo Adams on tour immediately.
