Connie Ferguson has confirmed that she has returned to reprise her lead role as Harriet Khoza on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen, following the passing of her husband, Shona Ferguson.
Connie Ferguson took to Instagram to document her first day back on the set of The Queen.
Ferguson had taken a break from shooting the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela after her now late husband, Shona Ferguson, fell ill. Her break was extended after his passing in July 2021. The star took the month of August 2021 to mourn his passing.
In light of the month anniversary since the passing of Shona Ferguson, The Queen lead is ready to return to television screens. Formally, Ferguson revealed that she returned to work on Friday, 10 September 2021.
Her return was marked with a warm welcome from the Ferguson Films team, who decorated her dressing room.
Moreover, Ferguson’s return comes as the telenovela has recently received some backlash over its alleged lacklustre storyline.
No word has been shared yet on when Connie will make her formal return to screens.
