Connie Ferguson took to Instagram on Saturday, 31 July 2021, to mark the twentieth anniversary since meeting her late husband, Shona Ferguson. The local entertainment world was sent into a state of shock when it was revealed on Friday, 30 July 2021, that the Kings of Joburg lead had passed away at 47 years old, reportedly due to COVID-19-related complications. Days before the news, social media was abuzz with #PrayForShona, as it was indicated that his health was not in a good state.
Ferguson’s post marked the day that the two formally began dating, as their wedding anniversary was set for November 2021. In her touching post, Ferguson reflected on having not lost just her husband, but her best friend and business partner as well, as the two co-owned Ferguson Films.
In part, The Queen actor wrote, “I’m struggling to process everything that’s going on! It all just feels like a horrible nightmare that I can’t wake up from! I feel like I’m living in a twilight zone! I keep asking God why? Why Lord? Please help me understand! I trust you! I trust you to see me and my family through this!
