Covivi’s Thursday night episode looked at the physical and economic impact of the pandemic on essential workers, who have been tasked with serving the country during this period.
Covivi’s latest episode, which aired on Moja Love on Thursday, 21 May 2020, saw the documentary looking at a day in the life of essential workers. The episode saw the workers explaining their fear for their health, as they have been forced to expose themselves to the virus because of their jobs. Many claimed that they have no option, as they could not afford to lose their jobs during this challenging time. Others came forth to detail the stress that they were feeling, as they were left wondering if they would have a job to return to post COVID-19.
Covivi also looked deeper into President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to gradually open up the economy, as it meant that more people would be able to go to work. The community members were torn between being thankful that they could earn a living again and the fact that they would be exposing themselves and their families to the virus.
