DAM has officially premiered on the South African streaming platform, Showmax, boasting an esteemed cast featuring Lea Vivier, Thembisa Mdoda, Pallance Dladla and Siv Ngesi.
DAM premiered on Showmax today, 22 February 2021, with all eight-episodes being released at once. The first episode introduced lead character, Yola Fischer, played by Lea Vivier, to the storyline, as she returned to her hometown in the Eastern Cape after some time abroad. After her father’s passing, the dynamics of her family appear to have changed, as the eeriness in her hometown is something she is not used to.
The eight-part series was created and directed by four-time SAFTA winner, Alex Yazbek, who is best known for his work on The Wild, Isibaya and Unmarried. Thembisa Mdoda also makes an appearance in the series, and shared the news on her personal Instagram page on Friday, 19 February 2021.
She stated, “It is a privilege and an honour to share this with you all… May it be blessed. May it be successful, and may it be kick as*.” Some of the other cast members are Pallance Dladla, Siv Ngesi, Natasha Loring and Neil Sandilands.
