The twelfth episode of Fire Country did air on a Sunday, but this was only temporary and the next two episode will air on the following Fridays.
The talented team behind Fire Country is one of the reasons why the show has become so successful so early on.
However, even though the twelfth episode of the show aired on Sunday, 29 January 2023, this was only a temporary change. The remaining episodes will air in the regular Friday timeslots again.
Why is Fire Country so good?
While it is not rare for a television drama to spotlight underdog storylines the way that Fire Country does, it is rare for such a show to become so popular.
There are many different reasons why fans enjoy watching Fire Country and the award-winning team behind the show definitely contributes to its overall success.
Max Thieriot does an excellent job, not only as the lead character, but as one of the writers of the show’s script.
The rest of the team includes big names like Jerry Bruckheimer who is known for shows and films like CSI: NY, The Amazing Race, and Top Gun: Maverick, as well as the showrunner, Tia Napolitano, who is known for her work in Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal.
Did Fire Country change nights?
As a result of the on-and-off-screen talent that has been working on Fire Country since its first episode, which aired on 7 October 2022, the show was quickly picked up for a full season. It was then renewed by CBS for a second season earlier in 2023.
The first season of the show is meant to end after 14 episodes, and 12 of these episodes have already aired, as is outlined below:
Episode number | Episode name | First air date |
1 | Pilot | Friday, 7 October 2022 |
2 | The Fresh Prince of Edgewater | Friday, 14 October 2022 |
3 | Where There’s Smoke… | Friday, 21 October 2022 |
4 | Work, Don’t Worry | Friday, 28 October 2022 |
5 | Get Some, Be Safe | Friday, 4 November 2022 |
6 | Like Old Times | Friday, 18 November 2022 |
7 | Happy to Help | Friday, 2 December 2022 |
8 | Bad Guy | Friday, 9 December 2022 |
9 | No Good Deed | Friday, 6 January 2022 |
10 | Get Your Hopes Up | Friday, 13 January 2022 |
11 | Mama Bear | Friday, 20 January 2022 |
12 | Two Pink Lines | Sunday, 29 January 2022 |
Although the first 11 episodes of the season all aired in their designated Friday 8 p.m. Central Standard Time or 9 p.m. Eastern Time slot, fans may have noticed that the twelfth episode aired on Sunday after the AFC Championship Game.
However, this is not a permanent change for the show and the next two episodes will again air in their regular Friday evening timeslots on 3 and 10 February 2023.
What aired in Fire Country’s place on CBS?
Many viewers tuned into CBS on the evening of 27 January 2023 expecting to watch an all-new episode of Fire Country.
However, keen-eyed viewers may have realised a few seconds into the show that CBS was showing a repeat episode of the same show, and not a new one.
The sixth episode of Fire Country, titled “Like Old Times” was shown on this past Friday instead of the expected twelfth episode. The network’s reasoning for this switch-up so close to the end of the season is still undertermined.
Other places to watch Fire Country
Besides a few production breaks and the odd 29 January 2023 episode, you can tune in to watch Fire Country on CBS in its usual timeslot every week.
Like many other CBS shows, you can also stream Fire Country on Paramount+ on the same day that it airs or at a later stage.
Alternatively, you can also buy the show on Amazon Prime Video, fuboTV, Google Play, DIRECTV, Vudu or iTunes if you want to avoid the monthly commitment of subscribing to the network or to a streaming service.
What to expect for the thirteenth episode
The thirteenth episode of Fire Country will air in its usual timeslot on Friday 3 February 2023.
It is likely that Fire Country now has few new fans from its appearance after the big game on Sunday and, as such, this episode promises to be one of the most intense episodes of the series to date.
The episode will be titled “You Know Your Dragon Best” and it will show the crew trying to rescue a group of environmentalists in the middle of a protest.
This fire will be one of the most challenging and dangerous obstacles that Bode and the Cal Fire team have ever faced. Viewers can expect that this episode will be a suspenseful lead-up to the season finale.
