Manaka Ranaka, who plays Lucy Diale on Generations: The Legacy, did not leave the soapie; however, she did go on maternity leave but her on-screen time was not impacted.
Manaka Ranaka is one of the lead actors on SABC 1’s Generations: The Legacy. In 2020, there were unfounded claims about her possibly leaving the soapie, following the departure of many of her castmates.
The matter was subsequently addressed and it was explained that Ranaka would not be leaving the soapie. However, it was revealed that she was pregnant at the time and would be taking a break from the show. In December 2020, her maternity leave began, which saw her taking time off until February 2021, following the birth of her first son and third child.
The tail end of her pregnancy was plagued with talk of her allegedly having a child with a man that had previously dated a close friend of hers. This is a matter that Ranaka has not yet publicly addressed.
