Although the Monster High live action film is still available on Paramount Plus and will soon get a sequel, the other animated films are no longer available.
The Monster High franchise is extremely popular and the brand has released a wide range of multimedia content, merchandise, and dolls over the years.
Although many of the animated films from this range were available on Paramount Plus in 2022, only the live action Monster High film remains in 2023. Fortunately, the new live action film will be available on the platform soon.
Why do people love the Monster High franchise?
Monster High made its debut in 2010 and it now includes a whole host of themed animated series, books, live action films, dolls, and video games.
Although the Monster High franchise is also owned by Mattel, like Barbie, American Girl, and My Scene, the Monster High dolls and lore is not as polished and traditionally pretty as the other Mattel brands.
This is part of what has attracted such a loyal group of fans to the brand.
Instead of featuring the all-American stereotypical dolls, the Monster High characters are inspired by mythology and folklore, which makes them much more diverse and relatable to people who could not relate to these other brands.
Did Paramount Plus take off Monster High?
On account of how unconventional the Monster High franchise is, it quickly became one of Mattel’s biggest earners, raking in over $500 million in annual sales.
However, even though there is quite the market for Monster High merchandise and collectibles, most fans of the franchise enjoy watching the various animated shows and films in the franchise more than anything.
Overall, the Monster High franchise released two 2D films between 2010 and 2011. Between 2012 and 2016 another 11 3D films were released, followed by another two films in 2016 and 2017.
After this, the franchise shifted their focus to the live action film titled Monster High: The Movie and the animated television series.
The popularity of the franchise continued and in October of 2022, Paramount Plus added several of the Monster High films and specials to their catalogue for fans to enjoy.
This was likely to increase the excitement surrounding the Monster High: The Movie debut on 6 October of the same year.
However, some fans started to notice, not long after Halloween ended, that the Monster High content was appearing in the “Leaving soon” tab on Paramount Plus.
Unfortunately, it seems as though most of this content was only available for a limited time, but the 2022 live action film is still available to watch. This means that the upcoming second live action film will be available too.

New Monster High content to come

This second live action film will also be created through a partnership between Paramount Plus, Nickelodeon, and Mattel Television.
It will follow Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolfman as they learn to navigate complicated social circles in Monster High. It is expected that this film will be released on Nickelodeon and Paramount Plus in 2023.
However, the second live action film is not the only new content being introduced to the Monster High range.
