DJ Fresh and Euphonik have broken their silence regarding the allegations of rape made against them last week, stating that they will not be attending any public engagements until the matter is resolved.
DJ Fresh and Euphonik have refuted any allegations of rape made against them by a woman named Nampree on Twitter, who claimed that the two DJs had drugged and raped her and three other women at a party. Nampree’s story gained traction on Tuesday, 12 January 2021, causing both DJs to top the Twitter trends list, with the public urging them to address the matter. According to local media, Prime Media has suspended both DJs in light of the allegations, and has emphasised the seriousness of the matter.
Following the announcement of their suspension, DJ Fresh and Euphonik released a joint statement on Saturday, 16 January 2021, which stated that they will not be attending public engagements until further notice. The statement read, “In light of the serious allegations levelled against us, we’ve decided to step away from all public work engagements until such time that this matter is resolved and the law has taken its course.”
DJ Fresh subsequently published a tweet which stated, “This is all so weird, having to explain myself about a person I don’t even know!!!!”
