DJ Tira has released his new studio album, Rockstar Forever, which marks 22 years of him being in the music industry and his third annual consecutive release.
DJ Tira took to Twitter on Friday, 25 June 2021, to confirm the availability of his 10-track album, Rockstar Forever. The release of the album showcases the consistency of the Afrotainment frontman, considering that he has released an album for the past three consecutive years, namely 2019’s Ikhenani, 2020’s 21 Years of DJ Tira, and now Rockstar Forever. Additionally, this marks his twenty-second year in the music industry.
According to the album description, “For his fifth album, DJ Tira maintains his Durban identity through a variety of genres. Different strains of gqom are showcased on most of Rockstar Forever — it’s embellished with electric guitar licks on Ngawe and meets bolobedu house and a sprinkling of amapiano on a remix of Insimbi. Genres like maskandi (Rambo, Zulu Lami) and gospel (Ngiyabonga Baba) are embedded into gqom and soulful house, and are just some of the many sounds DJ Tira has been fond of throughout his career.”
The album’s lead single is Ngilimele, featuring the Q Twins. DJ Tira is set to promote the single with a music video, scheduled for release on Friday, 2 July 2021.
The album is available for purchase on Apple Music.
