DJ Tira shares new music from his upcoming album

Published on

DJ Tira is preparing to release a new studio album; treating fans from eSwatini to a preview of one of the songs from his upcoming album.

The last time DJ Tira released a full body of work was in 2016 Fact Durban Rocks with a nostalgic throwback, a compilation between him and DJ Sox under their collective name, Durban’s Finest. Since then, the Afrotainment frontman has released a string of singles.  The last single he released was Amachankura, featuring TNS, on Friday, 1 March 2019.

Ahead of his Durban July’s Fact Durban Rocks edition, DJ Tira has shared that he is working on a new studio album and during his latest performance at eSwatini on Sunday, 30 June 2019, provided fans with a teaser of his new material. The DJ shared a video of himself performing the new song to a capacity crowd at an event. The video is shot from behind him while he performed the song, but because of the video’s poor sound quality, the lyrics to the gqom song are inaudible.

In his caption to the post, the Makoya Bearings DJ wrote, “Shutting down Durban July with this banger this weekend. eSwatini heard it for the first time and they lost their minds! #DJTiraAlbumLoading. Get your Fact Durban Rocks tickets…”

Fact Durban Rocks will take place this Saturday, 6 July 2019, at the People’s Park at the Moses Mabhida stadium. DJ Tira is one of many popular artists that will take the stage on the day, including AKA, Sjava, Sho Madjozi, Babes Wodumo, Lady Zamar, Okamlumkoolkat and A-Reece, just to name a few.

Although mum on further details about the album, the Afrontainment record label and event management owner has a roster of artists that are set to release albums this year, including Tipcee, Prince Bulo and NaakMusiQ.
