Award-winning gospel artist, Dumi Mkokstad, has announced that he is set to release a new single called Ungayeki Ukuthandaza, on Friday, 19 July 2019.
Popular South African gospel artist, Dumi Mkokstad, took to his social media pages to announce that he will be releasing his new single, Ungayeki Ukuthandaza, on Friday. The artist shared the news in the evening of Wednesday, 17 July 2019.
Dumi Mkokstad first hinted at the release of the new single through a video he released earlier on the same day. In the video, the artist explains that the single is inspired by his recent tumultuous times that provided him with the new testimony that he expresses in the new single. Dumi Mkokstad also sings the first verse of the single live.
In the lengthy caption to the video, the singer reflects on the inspiration of the song, writing, ”The type of people who say, yes, we see and we feel the pain from things that hurt us. But we are going on our knees to report this situation to our Father because we believe. Even this situation can still change.”
Beyond that, the song was also inspired by a scripture in The Bible, stating, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us,” the artist reflected. The caption was initially written in isiZulu which he provided an English translation to.
As promised, later in the evening, the singer released the single’s cover art across his social media pages. The cover art features him in a praying position with his eyes closed. Ungeyeki Ukuthandaza is an independent single that is not part of the live recorded DVD and CD, Calvary (Indawo Yobufakazi) [Live], which he released on Monday, 18 March 2019.
