Durban’s Azar nightclub to host The Kings of the Weekend

Taking to social media to make the announcement, the Durban-based nightclub has revealed that they will be hosting DJ Naves and Sphectacula tonight, 21 September 2018.

Azar nightclub in Durban will be hosting DJ Naves and Sphectacula, popularly known as The Kings of the Weekend, tonight 21 September 2018. The supporting acts that have been listed include Chynaman, Nag, DJ Touch of Soul and OG Dee. The nightclub took to social media to make the announcement.

The Kings of the Weekend first joined forces when they were co-anchors on a radio show, and have since gone on to produce award-winning hits and successfully hosted a show on Metro FM between 2010 and 2017. The pair now boasts a drive-time show The Kings’ Drive on Durban-based radio station Gagasi FM.

In a feature interview for the May 2017 issue of Destiny Man, the pair had just been announced as the new additions to the Gagasi FM line-up and commented:

“We knew we were ready for change and needed something bigger to challenge ourselves. We weren’t sure precisely what this change would be, but we believed in having a bigger impact on radio. We put it out to the universe and our paths have aligned with Gagasi FM at the right time.”

“We would like to wholeheartedly thank the Gagasi FM team for believing in our vision and entrusting us with their prime time show. We look forward to executing our shared vision for the show with them and growing with the station,” they added.

In addition to making music and being radio hosts, The Kings of the Weekend have gone into business together. They co-own popular nightclub Icon in Soweto, which they hope to further grow by creating franchising opportunities in the near future.

The dress code for tonight’s event is Smart Casual, and no shorts or slops will be permitted. Ladies gain free entry before midnight, and doors open at 21:00.
