e.tv introduces new local drama, Isipho

South African television network, e.tv, has announced the addition of another local drama to its evening schedule. Isipho is scheduled to premiere on Monday, 1 July 2019 at 18:30.

According to a statement issued by e.tv on Thursday, 6 June 2019, the show will be aired from Monday to Thursday at 18:30, and is produced by HerbVision Multimedia in association with The Ntintili Factory. The plot is set in the landscapes of Muldersdrift and surrounding areas, and follows Moses Shezi, a former academic whose life takes a dramatic turn upon receiving an unexpected vision indicating that his daughter will die in the near future.

He sets out to find the four strangers who appeared in his vision and is surprised to find that they too have extra-ordinary gifts. In a quest to change his destiny and understand his gift, Moses, together with his psychologist wife and a team of teachers in the spiritual arts, open an academy for the gifted.

The local drama includes themes and storylines untouched by the e.tv network, making Isipho one of a kind. Head of Local Content at e.tv, Ziyanda Mngomezulu stated, “The channel is happy to open up its pool of production companies with Herbvision and the Ntintili Factory producing their first independent production for the channel. We look forward to welcoming back some familiar faces to our screens and introducing new ones,”.

Isipho includes a slew of new talents, alongside well-known South African actors and actresses. These include Nimrod Nkosi, Thobani Nzuza, Saint Seseli, Sparky Xulu, Wandi Chamane, Karabo Maseko, Precious Ngidi, Mbalenhle Mavimbela and Themsie Times.
