Emtee has been nominated in the RnB and Soul category for his single ‘Me and You’, featuring Tiwa Savage, at the 2018 All Africa Music Awards.

Despite battling his drug and alcohol addictions, 2018 appears to have been a successful career year for rapper Emtee. He released his third studio album DIY II on 21 September. The album debuted at number one on the iTunes South Africa album chart.

Emtee has now been nominated for the RnB and Soul award at the fifth annual All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) happening on Saturday, 24 November 2018, in Ghana. He is nominated for his 2017 single ‘Me and You’, which features Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage.

On Wednesday, 10 October, Emtee took to social media to ask his fans to vote for his win at the awards. “Please vote for Me and You, I will appreciate your support…” he wrote.

Over the span of his career, Emtee has won nine awards from 13 nominations, including the 2017 AFRIMA for Best male artist in South Africa.

The mission of the AFRIMA awards board is to promote African music at an international level. Nigeria hosted the first three AFRIMA awards ceremonies from 2014 – 2016.
