The Garage Squad submissions are still open, but it seems unlikely that the show will return for another season.
The Garage Squad team has travelled all over the Midwest to help struggling owners with their stalled car restoration projects.
However, even though submissions for the show are still currently open, the future of the show is still unclear, so and submitting a new project may be a waste of time.
All about Garage Squad
Every longtime gearhead will know that having a forgotten project tucked away in a second garage or storage shed somewhere is an at-home mechanic norm.
However, Bruno, Bogi, Joe and the rest of the team in MotorTrend’s Garage Squad are trying to change this tradition, one stalled project at a time.
The Garage Squad team has travelled throughout almost the entire Midwest in their shop-on-wheels, since the series first started airing back in 2014.
They did this in a bid to help frustrated and overwhelmed owners get their stalled projects back up and running within just a few days.
Everything you need to know about the Garage Squad submissions
Garage Squad has aired a total of 84 episodes between its premiere episode and the show’s most recently aired eighth season finale episode, which aired in 2021.
During this time, the Garage Squad team, like many of the other car restoration shows on television, relied on their fans (and the friends and families of their fans) to send in stalled project submissions for the team to tackle in upcoming seasons, via the show’s website submission form.
And though this Garage Squad submission form is still technically open for anyone send in new submissions to this day, things have gotten a bit more complicated.
While the Garage Squad website is still up and running for the time being, it has now been almost two years since the eighth season of Garage Squad concluded.
And so far, MotorTrend has not provided any update as to the current status of the show.
So while Garage Squad has not officially been cancelled, the series has also not yet been renewed for another season.
This means that although the submissions for the show are still open, there is no guarantee that its producers will even look at new submissions before the show is officially renewed.
And if MotorTrend does end up deciding not to bring the show back after all this time, sending in a submission now may just end up being a huge waste of time.
What do you need for the Garage Squad submission form?
If you want to try your luck at sending in a Garage Squad submission anyway, you will need to get some important information straight first.
If you your Garage Squad submission to be as complete as possible, you will need to have the following information readily on hand:
- Your personal information (including your name, email address, phone number, city and state of residence)
- Information about the project car (including its current location, the type of vehicle, and a description of the car)
You will also need the information of the person you are nominating (if you are nominating someone other than yourself) and a little bit of backstory about the project and the owner.
All the terms and conditions to take note of
If you do decide to send in a submission to have your own project car, or the project car of a close friend or relative, featured on the show, it is important that you take note of the fact that an acceptance of your submission does not signify that your project has been selected for the show.
The final selection is at the sole discretion of the Garage Squad producers and may take some time to finalize.
Will MotorTrend bring Garage Squad back for a ninth season?
The worlds of television and streaming have become increasingly complicated, and networks often decide to cancel and renew shows seemingly out of the blue.
However, while there is really no way of saying whether MotorTrend will bring Garage Squad back in the future or not, a renewal does seem increasingly unlikely at this point in time.
One of the biggest tell-tale signs that Garage Squad will not be returning anytime soon is the fact that all of the main cast members, including Bruno, Bogi and Joe, have not shared anything about the show on their social media pages in quite some time.
In fact, the most recent mention of the show is on Joe’s Instagram page, where he shared a meme about the show’s cast members only receiving “happy birthday mentions” from MotorTrend after eight years of hard work.
