Acclaimed American actress, Gabrielle Union, has revealed that she and her basketball player husband, Dwyane Wade, are fans of Netflix South Africa’s Blood And Water. In a tweet on Wednesday, 1 July 2020, Gabrielle responded to a Netflix SA post about Khosi Ngema, who plays one of the show’s leads, Fikile Bhele. She stated, “I was [just] talking about Blood And Water during a pitch today! Me and Dwyane Wade are anxiously awaiting season two!”
The cast members of Netflix South Africa’s second original production shared their excitement following Gabrielle’s tweet, as she is recognised as one of Hollywood’s most successful actresses. On Monday, 15 June 2020, director, Nosipho Dumisa, revealed that the show had been renewed for a second season due to the success of the first season.
