The official release date for Harley Quinn season 4 has not been set, but according to the sizzle reel, this season will premiere in 2023.
Fortunately, the Harley Quinn animated series is not one of the shows being dropped by HBO Max after the Warner Bros. Discovery merger.
The exact release date of this fourth season has not been confirmed yet, but season four of Harley Quinn will be released sometime during 2023.
Will Harley Quinn be getting a fourth season?
Fans have been on edge about the fate of their favourite shows ever since the Warner Bros. Discovery merger took place back in 2022.
While this new company has been trying to find its feet, dozens of fan-favourite shows have been lost in the process. This includes many of the HBO Max Originals, which were simply removed from the platform entirely.
This made fans of the animated Harley Quinn series on HBO Max extremely nervous about the show’s renewal, especially after the Batgirl movie was cancelled before it could even hit theatres in 2022.
Fortunately, HBO announced on 31 August 2022 that the series would be renewed for its fourth season.
Harley Quinn season 4 release date
Although HBO Max was quick to announce that Harley Quinn would not suffer the same fate that so many of the other shows on the platform did, they were not very clear about exactly when Harley Quinn would be returning for the show’s fourth season.
By the time that season three of Harley Quinn concluded, fans had seen Harley fully develop her own identity as the new antihero in Gotham.
She teamed up with Bruce Wayne to help him with his own issues and she even became a member of the Bat-family, not to mention all the ups and down of Harley’s ever-evolving relationship with Poison Ivy.
Since this season basically turned Gotham on its head, fans of the show were happy to see Harley feature in a sizzle reel that HBO Max released for their shows which are set to premiere or continue in 2023.
Therefore, even if HBO Max has not announced an exact date for the release of Harley Quinn’s fourth season just yet, fans can rest assured that they will not have to wait for two whole years like they had to with the third season.
Many fans initially thought that the fourth season would be available on the platform following the release of “A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special” on 9 February 2023.
Unfortunately, this did not happen, and fans will likely have to wait a few more months to see how the story will develop in season four of Harley Quinn.
Which cast members will return for Harley Quinn season 4?
The official cast list for the fourth season of Harley Quinn has also not yet been announced. However, Kaley Cuoco will most likely return as the voice of Harley Quinn since she is also an executive producer on the show.
Fans expect that other cast members from the first two seasons, including Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Brianna Cuoco as Batgirl, Ron Funches as King Shark, and Alan Tudyk as The Joker and Clayface will make a return to the show as well.
What will change in season 4 of Harley Quinn?
Although there are still many unknown details about the fourth season of Harley Quinn, details about some of the behind-the-scenes changes have been released.
The creators of the show, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, have confirmed that Sarah Peters, who was a writer on the second and third seasons of the show, will take over as the showrunner in the series’ fourth season.
It has also been confirmed that Cecilia Aranovich will be in charge of the animation production for the season.
Plot predictions for the fourth season of Harley Quinn
Peter Girardi, the executive vice president of alternative programming at Warner Bros. Animation, has confirmed that the fourth season of Harley Quinn will be even more chaotic and entertaining than the previous seasons.
Even with all of the uncertainty and changes happening behind the scenes.
While the official plot of the fourth season will likely not be revealed until the season starts airing, the series has been known to pull off insane plot twists in the past. Some of these include throwing Bruce Wayne in prison and making Joker the mayor.
It is likely that the majority of the season’s plot will revolve around how Harley and Ivy will navigate their relationship moving forward.
Moreover, fans will likely also get to see more of Joker as the mayor of Gotham City and more of Batgirl in her new role as Bat-family leader.
