HomeComing Africa returns to the Voortrekker Monument

Published on

The popular music and lifestyle festival will be returning to the capital city this coming weekend, with the likes of Sho Madjozi and Cassper Nyovest set to perform.

HomeComing Events will be hosting their popular music and lifestyle festival this coming Saturday, 29 September 2018. The theme for the upcoming festival is The Story of Music, which the organisers say is an opportunity to tell African stories through music and eventing.

The event will take place at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria and will be a celebration of their tenth year of hosting the music festival.

Speaking to The Plug magazine on Thursday, 06 September 2018, the founders of the HomeComing Events, Katlego Malatji and Neo Moela, simply described the festival as an “eventing revolution.”

“HomeComing Africa is an eventing revolution set to take the continent by storm,” they said. “A Pan-African celebration of music, culture and lifestyle centred around the building of a cultural bridge between South Africa and the rest of the continent.”

They went on to say that the festival started out as a regular picnic for friends returning home for the holidays after each semester, and it gradually grew into a popular festival that now caters for over 16,000 people.

Saturday’s event boasts artists from around the continent, and will feature local acts such as Sho Madjozi, DJ Speedsta, Ms Cosmo, Rouge, A-Reece, Shekhinah and Cassper Nyovest. The event is powered by 5FM, in association with Channel O. Tickets are available online and at various participating outlets.
