e.tv has confirmed that House of Zwide, a collaboration between Bomb Productions and VideoVision, is set to take over Rhythm City’s timeslot.
e.tv released a formal statement on Wednesday, 9 June 2021, detailing the upcoming drama series set to replace flagship weekly soapie, Rhythm City. News of the end of Rhythm City was shared at the beginning of 2021, in a surprise announcement that was reportedly made to the public and the cast and crew of the production at the same time. In light of the end of the soapie, the channel has confirmed that House of Zwide will replace the show.
VideoVision Entertainment’s Chief Executive Officer, Anant Singh was quoted as stating, “House of Zwide tells a thrilling rags-to-riches story set in the glamorous world of fashion. It is a timely aspirational tale with many twists and turns that we believe will keep viewers glued to their television screens. We are excited to be partnering with Bomb Productions on this production which also marks our second series with e.tv.”
Moreover, the statement concluded by stating, “The show will feature some of South Africa’s most loved and award-winning actors with a generous dash of new talent.” House of Zwide is set to premiere on e.tv on Monday, 19 July 2021.
