I Am Bishop I Makamu: Viewers continue to condemn the bishop’s business operations

Tuesday night’s episode of I Am Bishop I Makamu saw the bishop defending himself on Facebook and thereafter discussing potential solutions for the running of the church.

The latest episode of Moja Love’s I Am Bishop I Makamu, which aired on Tuesday, 6 August 2019, saw the bishop being caught up in a Facebook war with Bishop Vusi Dube, where he set the record straight about false claims made against him. The episode also showcased a meeting with other men of God, where they discussed their concerns about the Christian environment and the potential solutions surrounding people who need to find comfort in God.

Viewers of the show continued to share their disapproval for Bishop I Makamu’s way of running the church. Although many praised him for his work in the community, they also highlighted that all his endeavours come with financial benefit. A viewer stated, “When we warned people about this Bishop, we were accused of judging. But at least people now have an opportunity to see that this is nothing more than a business.” Zizman Zizipho also tweeted, “Charismatic churches are operating as registered businesses. To them as members of the church, you are their clients. Government should pass a law to tax those churches.”

The reality series is described as an introduction to the man to whom a few people have access away from the pulpit. Bishop I Makamu is known to many as a religious leader who preaches to his congregation about Christianity, empowering them to its teachings through his sermons.

I Am Bishop I Makamu airs on Tuesdays at 22:00 on Moja Love, DStv channel 157.
